(Viennese Waltz Dream) was founded in 1990 by Doris Dorer, bringing together a group of musicians with a shared passion for Viennese music and a vision to ensure that the tradition of the Viennese waltz continues to play a vital role in today's music world as it has since the time of Johann Strauß himself. After all, Johann Strauß' son composed waltzes not only for dancing and entertainment, but also the first concert waltzes. In keeping with tradition, Doris Dorer combines the role of Solo Violinist with that of Conductor. The orchestra comprises musicians graduated from the Wiener Konservatorium and the Vienna Music High-School. The secret of the success of the Ladies Orchestra "Wiener Walzertraum" lies in the musical ability, the feeling for Viennese music and not least in the very Viennese temperament of its members. |
DORIS DORER was born and raised in Vienna. She studied the violin at the Conservatory of Vienna. There she is teaching the violin. She also was teacher at the "Viennese Choral School for Children" until 1994. Doris has played concert tours all over Austria as well as overseas with various orchestras and ensembles. |
